A Detailed 10 Days Uganda Rwanda Wildlife safari
Day 1: Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.Â
Your guide will be present at the airport in Entebbe, holding a card with your name for your convenience. Based on your arrival time, arrangements will be made for your transfer to a hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala. Should your schedule allow or if you arrive early in the day, a tour of Entebbe or Kampala could be arranged.
Accommodation options include dinner and overnight stays at Kampala Serena Hotel (luxury), 2 Friends Beach Hotel (budget), Malakai Eco Lodge (budget), or Hotel Triangle (budget).
Day 2: Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park – observe Rhinos at the Ziwa sanctuary
You will depart early after breakfast for Murchison Falls National Park. During your journey, a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary will be made prior to entering Murchison Falls National Park. The sanctuary was created to protect the remaining Rhinos in Uganda. In Uganda’s parks, rhinos are not able to roam freely because of extended and unregulated poaching activities. Once their population grows, a strategy will be implemented to reintroduce them to the major national parks of Uganda.

Â
The primary focus is on rhino tracking; however, additional activities include boat rides and opportunities to observe crocodiles, various bird species, and small primates. Following your tour of the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will enjoy lunch at Amuka Lodge before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park. After arriving at the park, you will travel to the top of the falls to take in the breathtaking views and sounds of the thundering Nile.
The accommodations for dinner and overnight stays will be at Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury), Pakuba Lodge (mid-range), and Red Chili Rest Camp (budget).
Day 3: Early morning Game drive and a boat cruise
You will rise early to enjoy your breakfast before being transported to the southern banks of the river Nile. This morning drive will offer you the chance to observe four of the big five: lions, buffaloes, leopards, and elephants. Additionally, you will encounter Hyenas, Bushbucks, Jackals, the Uganda Kob, and the Hartebeest, along with many other remarkable species.
You will return to the lodge for lunch and rest before embarking on the launch cruise at the base of the falls. As you traverse the river banks, be on the lookout for one of the largest concentrations of hippos and crocodiles globally. Bird watching is an excellent activity in this area, featuring rare species such as the Saddle-billed Stork, African Skimmer, shoebill stork, Grey-crowned Crane, Goliath Heron, Black-headed Gonolek, Fish Eagle, and Long-toed Plover, among numerous others.
Accommodation for the night will be at Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba Lodge, and Red Chili Rest Camp, catering to luxury, mid-range, and budget preferences respectively.

Lunch will be taken en route, with arrival at Kibale Forest anticipated in the afternoon. Upon checking into your hotel, you will proceed to the Bigodi Wetlands sanctuary, where you will have the opportunity to observe primates and birds, as well as engage with the local community.
Dinner and overnight accommodations are available at Kyaninga Lodge, Primates Lodge luxury tents, Primates Lodge Deluxe, or Chimpanzee Guest House.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After getting up and getting a quick cup of coffee, you will proceed to the Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing. The briefing outlines what to anticipate during your chimpanzee tracking experience, including the necessary things to bring and appropriate conduct upon encountering the chimpanzees. Chimp trekking typically lasts between 3 to 5 hours.
The experience differs from gorilla trekking as the chimpanzees tend to remain higher in the trees. Tracking chimpanzees requires a higher level of physical exertion. While they are readily accessible, it is essential to act swiftly to stay aligned with them. Following an hour with the chimpanzees, you will return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation before commencing a two-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Accommodation options include Mweya Safari Lodge for a luxury experience, Ihamba Lodge or Park View Lodge for mid-range comfort, and Simba Safari Camp for budget-friendly stays.
Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel.
Following an early rest yesterday, you can anticipate today’s engaging activities with enthusiasm. Your diver will collect you following breakfast for an early morning game drive. The game takes place early in the morning, providing an opportunity to observe some nocturnal animals returning to their dens after a night of hunting. Anticipate observing the large felines and avian species emerging from their slumber. Throughout the day, one can expect to observe hippos, buffaloes, lions, hartebeests, and a diverse array of bird species. Following this, please return to the lodge for lunch and a period of rest. At 2:00 PM, you are scheduled to embark on the boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel. The channel serves as a vital link between Lake George and Lake Edward, drawing a significant number of park animals, particularly in the dry season. Observe the interactions between predators and prey as they approach for a drink, or take in the impressive collection of birds.
Accommodation options include dinner and overnight stays at Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury), Ihamba Lodge or Park View Lodge (mid-range), or Simba Safari Camp (budget).
Day 7: Visit to Lake Bunyonyi – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park
Following the activities of the previous day, it is now an opportunity to dedicate the entire day to relaxation and exploration at one of Africa’s most stunning natural locations – Lake Bunyonyi. The lake features approximately 29 islands, providing visitors the opportunity to explore several of them. The region is endowed with a stunning green landscape and picturesque beaches that can be explored by boat. If you have an appreciation for birds, you will be impressed by the remarkable variety of species available. If birding does not appeal to you, you may prefer to relax on the beach while observing the local community as they row their boats or engage in fishing activities. Lake Bunyonyi is a great spot to unwind during or after a lengthy safari in Uganda. Following your time at the lake, the driver will transport you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park to get ready for gorilla trekking.
Accommodation includes dinner and overnight stays at Chameleon Hill Lodge (luxury), Bakiga Lodge (mid-range), and Trekkers Tarvan Bwindi (budget).
Day 8: Mountain gorilla trekking at Bwindi – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda
You will rise early, enjoy breakfast, and then proceed to the park offices for registration and a briefing. The briefing provides details regarding the park, expectations, and the gorilla groups in Bwindi. Gorilla groups are assigned according to fitness level, individual preferences, and age considerations. Upon completion of the briefing, you will receive a hiking stick and be guided into the forest to search for the Mountain Gorillas. Gorilla tracking is a captivating and exhilarating experience. The journey navigates through thick forest, underbrush, and muddy terrain, culminating in the unexpected encounter with the gorilla group. Capture as many photographs as possible, as your time with the family is limited to one hour. A certificate of participation will be presented to you prior to your return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Following your rest and check-out, it is advisable to prepare for your late afternoon journey to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.
Your accommodations will include Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for luxury, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge for mid-range, and Garden Place Hotel for budget-friendly options, along with dinner and a restful night’s sleep.
Day 9: Second Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park – Visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village
The briefing for gorilla trekking at Volcanoes National Park commences at approximately 7:00 AM. We recommend that you rise early and have breakfast while you await the arrival of your guide. Approximately 12 gorilla families reside in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. The distribution of gorilla groups is determined by the overall fitness of the participants. When tracking mountain gorillas in the forest, it is essential to heed and adhere to the instructions provided by your guides. Please refrain from making abrupt movements and ensure that you take photographs only when authorized to do so.

Â
Following the gorilla tracking experience in Volcanoes National Park, you will return to the starting point where our Guide will be ready to escort you back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, the Guide will escort you to the Gorilla Guardians Village for a visit. This center highlights the rich cultural heritage of the Banyarwanda. The center is well-organized, providing tourists with an engaging experience rather than a passive observation. Participants are encouraged to engage in the presentations and may don local costumes for photography opportunities.
Dining options include Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for a luxurious experience, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge for a mid-range choice, and Garden Place Hotel for budget-friendly accommodations.
Day 10: Tracking golden monkeys – Tour of Kigali City – Departure
Rise early and have breakfast prior to attending another briefing for golden monkey tracking. Golden monkeys are charming primates; however, they are currently facing the threat of extinction. They exhibit playful behavior and operate in sizable groups. Their golden coats set them apart from all other primates in the park. While monitoring their movements, anticipate encountering additional primates along the route. Subsequently, our guide will escort you back to the hotel for checkout prior to making your way back to Kigali. The journey will take three hours, during which you will be impressed by the stunning rolling hills, lush vegetation, and tea plantations in Rwanda – a country renowned for its breathtaking landscapes. We’ll have lunch on route. You will be shown about the well-kept city of Kigali after you arrive. This visit entails touring the genocide war memorial centers.
