Day 1:Airport to Kigali hotel
You will meet and greet the driver-guide who will subsequently take you on a tour of Kigali city. Experience a half-day tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre in Gisozi, which requires several hours.
This tour is both emotional and significant, highlighting the necessity of understanding the hardships endured by Rwanda. Kigali is one of Africa’s most beautiful capital towns and one of the cleanest and safest cities in the continent. It is a city that spans numerous mountains and valleys and features bustling streets, winding boulevards, and verdant hillsides.

Day 2: Cultural Excursion en route to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Consume breakfast and subsequently depart for Butare, the second largest city in Rwanda, recognized as the nation’s intellectual hub. It features the national museum, numerous academic universities, and various research institutions.
En route to Butare, you will see Nyanza, the former palace of the Mwami and the center of the feudal monarchy. Additionally, the palace’s characteristic dome has been restored to its 9th-century condition.
You will thereafter visit the National institution, which is arguably the most well-established ethnographic institution in East Africa. It serves as an excellent resource for understanding the cultural history of Rwanda and its surrounding region.

Day 3: Explore Nyungwe Forest National Park
The day will commence with breakfast and a briefing at the Uwinka Visitors Center. Based on your individual preferences, you will have many options to explore the greatest high-altitude rainforest in East Africa.
Another curiosity is the substantial social groupings of the Angolan colobus, which may exceed 300 individuals. The largest known troops of this species exist in the globe. Nyungwe Forest is home to 25% of Africa’s primate species.
One of these groups is semi-habituated, and we propose beginning your experience with a guided primate walk in pursuit of the Angolan colobus monkeys. The rangers will inform you of the group’s location, and the hiking durations may vary as the group forages for food. Additionally, be ready for a more vigorous hike.
Trekking with chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest is an additional option.

Day 4: Proceed to Kinigi

Begin the fourth day of our 6-day Rwanda wildlife safari with breakfast followed by a transport to Volcanoes National Park. Make a stop at Huy Butare fort for souvenir shopping, followed by lunch in Kigali, before proceeding to Kinigi, where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Trekking Mountain Gorillas and Transfer to Akagera
Have breakfast promptly at the lodge, then proceed to the offices for formal registration for the gorilla walk. Subsequently, you will be transported to Volcanoes National Park, where the trek will commence under the guidance of rangers. Gorilla trekking lasts between 1 to 8 hours, and at Gorilla Safaris, we assure a 99.9% probability of seeing gorillas.

You will have one hour to remain with them, accompanied by park rangers who have dedicated their lives to coexisting with these creatures in the jungle. The gorilla trekking will be just as thrilling as walking through the enormous lobelias, vines, and moss-covered hagenia trees that thrive in the tropical climate.

Day 6: Game Drive in Akagera and Transfer to Kigali for Departure
As on previous days, arise early for a substantial breakfast before embarking on the wildlife game drive. The expedition will endure approximately 3 hours, after which we will return to Kigali city to conclude our 6-day wildlife safari in Rwanda.
Akagera National Park is the largest protected area and the sole savannah park in Rwanda, home to several mammals, bird species, and other wildlife. You will have the opportunity to observe some or all of the African Big Five game (lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, and buffaloes), as well as reptiles, avian species, and other animals, including zebras, hyenas, giraffes, and antelopes.
