A Detailed 6 Days Uganda Gorillas, Chimpanzees & Wildlife safari

Day 1: Entebbe Airport To Kibale Forest National Park.

Reaching Entebbe International Airport , a quaint village on Lake Victoria’s shoreline, greets you with a pleasant, tropical atmosphere. Upon completing customs and immigration procedures, you will be greeted by your safari guide, who will provide an overview of the thrilling experiences that await you. Following that, you will have a picturesque journey to Kibale Forest National Park, which is situated in western Uganda. The breathtaking views of tea plantations, undulating hills, and rural Ugandan life will enthrall you even if the drive takes about five to six hours.

Lunch will be enjoyed en route in Fort Portal Town, recognized as one of the cleanest towns in Uganda. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge, situated within the lush forest. Dedicate the evening to unwinding and soaking up the serene sounds of nature. Have dinner and a restful night.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

Today’s excursion starts with an early breakfast, setting you up for an exciting day of Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. The highest concentration of primates, including the greatest number of chimpanzees in Uganda, may be found in Kibale Forest National Park. You will be accompanied by a team of trekkers and a knowledgeable guide who will navigate you through the dense forest. Listen and look for indications of the chatty and lively chimpanzees as you make your way through the jungle.

Observing these primates in their natural environment is a truly remarkable experience. One can observe them swinging from trees, engaging in grooming behaviors, and interacting playfully on the forest floor. The duration of the trek generally ranges from 2 to 4 hours, contingent upon the specific location of the chimpanzees. Following this invigorating experience, you will proceed back to your lodge for lunch. After checking out, you’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited game reserve. Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise at Kazinga Channel

Get up early to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive. The early morning hours provide optimal conditions for observing predators such as lions and leopards, along with a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, and various antelope species. The park serves as an exceptional destination for birdwatchers, boasting a record of over 600 species. The northern sector, Kasenyi Plains. This region is recognized for its big numbers of elephants, buffalo, and Uganda kob, along with the elusive presence of lions. Following the morning safari, guests are invited to return to the lodge for breakfast and a period of relaxation. In the afternoon, you will proceed to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise.

This Kazinga channel links Lake Edward and Lake George and is abundant in wildlife. While navigating the water, you will encounter hippos, crocodiles, and a diverse array of birds up close. The banks of the channel are regularly visited by elephants, buffalo, and various other animals, creating a truly unforgettable wildlife experience in Uganda. Please proceed back to your lodge. Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Ishasha Wilderness.

Following breakfast, you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is renowned for its population of endangered mountain gorillas. The journey to Bwindi impenetrable National Park requires approximately 4-5 hours, traversing the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Should time allow, you may consider taking a detour to observe these distinctive predators resting in fig trees. Check into your lodge when you get to Bwindi in the afternoon.


Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a verdant and dense rainforest that serves as a sanctuary for approximately fifty percent of the global mountain gorilla population. This park is an excellent choice for honeymooners and couples of all kinds. Dedicate the remainder of the evening to unwinding and making preparations for the exciting gorilla trek scheduled for the following day.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The best part of your 6 days Gorillas, chimpanzees & Wildlife safari is to go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park today. Following an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing conducted by the park rangers. This presentation will provide insights into gorilla behavior and the guidelines for effectively tracking them. With the assistance of knowledgeable guides, you will embark on a gorilla trekking expedition into the dense forest in search of  habituated gorilla family. The trek may be demanding, requiring a duration of 2 to 8 hours, contingent upon the specific location of the gorillas. The landscape is challenging and the vegetation is dense, yet the outcome is exceptional. Upon encountering the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour observing their daily activities.

Observing a silverback male, along with females and playful juveniles in their natural environment, is an incredibly impactful experience. Upon completion of the trek, proceed to the lodge for a period of relaxation. In the evening, one may choose to explore the surrounding community, visit local artisan shops, or simply appreciate the serene atmosphere of the rainforest.

Day 6: Return to Entebbe International Airport

Begin your day with a substantial breakfast, then proceed to check out of the lodge. Following this, commence your return journey to Entebbe, with a scheduled lunch stop in Mbarara town. Proceed with the journey, making a stop at the Equator Line crossing for a photo opportunity and refreshments. Proceed to Kamapala Entebbe, arriving in the evening, where the guide will ensure you are dropped off at the airport in a timely manner for your departure journey home. The meal plan includes breakfast and lunch, concluding your 6-day gorilla and chimpanzee wildlife tour.
