Detailed 4 days Bwinda gorilla Trekking & Lake Bunyonyi Safari Uganda

Day 1: Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable national Park.

Pick Up from Kigali Airport or your accommodation. Commence your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in South Western Uganda. The drive is approximately 6 hours in duration. The journey leads you through Ruhengeri, which is the gateway to the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. A stopover will be made at the Twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. Proceed to the Cyanika Border and, following the necessary formalities, continue on to Bwindi. Throughout the drive, you will have an excellent opportunity to capture photographs of the three Virunga Volcanoes: Sabinyo, Gahinga, and Muhabura, which are safeguarded within the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. Upon arriving at the park in the evening, take the opportunity to unwind at the lodge as you get ready for the upcoming gorilla trek.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

Today marks the significant day for gorilla trekking. Please proceed to have breakfast. The guide will escort you to the ranger post for a briefing on gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon familiarizing yourself with the necessary formalities of the adventure ahead, proceed to enter the gorilla sanctuary and commence your expedition into the mountains. A gorilla trek can range from a brief excursion of just one hour to an extensive hike lasting a full day, as the duration is influenced by the movement of the gorillas within their habitat. The gorilla trek typically lasts approximately 5 hours. During your encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will have a full hour to observe them as they engage in their daily activities.

Upon concluding your encounter with the great apes, please return to the designated briefing point to collect your certificates, which will serve as souvenirs and verification of your visit with the gorillas.

Following the gorilla trek, proceed to Lake Bunyonyi, often referred to as the Switzerland of Africa.

Day 4: Journey Back to Kigali

Following breakfast, commence the journey back to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Embark on a Kigali City Tour, featuring a visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site and an exploration of Caplaki Market for crafts and souvenir shopping. Transportation can be arranged to either the hotel or the airport for your return flight.
