A Detailed 5 Day Uganda Gorillas & Chimpanzees Safari
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
At 7 AM, your driver guide will collect you from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your guide will facilitate stopovers at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photography, a concise discussion, and some experiments.
Lunch: You will continue to Mbarara town for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. You will subsequently proceed past picturesque banana plantations, agricultural lands, and the remarkable Hills of Kigezi.
In the evening, you will arrive and proceed to check in at the lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

Morning Briefing: Following your early morning breakfast, your guide will transport you to the Park Headquarters for a briefing session. You will join others before proceeding into the forest for your gorilla trek. The duration of this trek can range from 30 minutes to 8Â hours, contingent upon the location of the mountain gorilla family on any given day.

Trek/Observation: Upon locating the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour observing their behavior and capturing photographs. Following face to face  experience, you will return to the Park Headquarters to receive your certificate, which verifies your tracking of gorillas in Uganda.
In the afternoon, you will receive your packed lunch prior to your return to the lodge.
In the evening, you will unwind at the hotel, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Travel from Bwindi to Kibale National Park
Morning/Transfer: Following breakfast, we will proceed to Kibale National Park for an overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House. This excursion will guide you through Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering opportunities to observe various wildlife as we traverse this savannah-dominated national park.
During the afternoon/lunch period, you will have an additional opportunity to cross the Equator at Kikolongo. As you travel through Kasese district to Fort Portal, you will encounter several rivers that originate from the Rwenzori Mountains. A stop will be made in Fort Portal town for lunch before continuing the journey.
In the evening, you will arrive at the hotel in Kibale and check in at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House. You will have the opportunity to relax before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimp Trekking in Kibale and Bigodi Wetland Exploration

Morning/Briefing: Following breakfast, you will proceed to Kibale National Park Headquarters for an informative session on the guidelines for Chimpanzee trekking. Participants will be organized into small groups of six, each led by a guide who will accompany them into the forest to locate one of the Chimpanzee families. Chimpanzees inhabit communities ranging from 50 to 250 individuals; however, they typically divide into smaller groups during the day to minimize competition for food resources. In the evening, they will reunite to construct their nests.
Trekking and Observation: Upon locating the Chimps, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour in their presence before returning to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, following lunch, you proceed to embark on a wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village. Kibale National Park is renowned for its 13 documented species of primates and a variety of bird species.
In the evening, you will return to the hotel to unwind, enjoy dinner, and spend the night, concluding your day.

Lunch Period On your journey, you will continue and take a lunch break in Mubende at a local restaurant.
In the evening, you will arrive in Entebbe/Kampala and proceed to your post-tour accommodation (not included) or to Entebbe International Airport for your international departure flight, concluding your 5 day gorillas & Chimpanzee safari.
