Day 2 – 4: Gorilla Trekking and Golden Monkey Tracking at Volcanoes National Park

Following a buffet breakfast, you will be transferred from the hotel to Volcanoes National Park, where you will enjoy a three-night stay in a forest villa at Bisate Lodge. The architecture integrates harmoniously with the environment, featuring thatched suites that blend into the lush hillside vegetation.

You will commence your first full day with a 4×4 safari drive to a nearby forest trail. An experienced guide will lead you along well-traveled footpaths and precipitous slopes to provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience.

You will have one hour to observe a family of gorillas as they engage in their natural habitat, with the young ones playing while the adults forage for food or rest.

The following day, you will have the opportunity to observe golden monkeys, smaller primates that compensate for their size with energetic and entertaining behaviors. A committed ranger will lead you into the bamboo forests, where you will get the chance to get up close and personal with these agile animals in their natural habitat. This presentation will cover the conservation initiatives that have contributed to their continued existence.

While you’re here, you can take advantage of shorter guided excursions like the nursery nature walk and the community beehive project. Experience a complimentary 20-minute neck and shoulder massage designed to alleviate muscle tension, and take the opportunity to relax in the day lounge following your day of exploration.

Day 5: Depart for Nairobi

After a private road drive to Kigali International Airport the following day, you will say goodbye to Rwanda and board your flight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Upon your arrival in Kenya, you will enjoy one night in the comfort of a luxury double room at Manzili House. This delightful bed-and-breakfast is situated in the serene neighborhood of Karen, a lush suburb that provides a refreshing retreat from your safari adventure. Explore the town’s rich past by going to the Karen Blixen Museum or just taking a leisurely stroll about the courtyard. After that, unwind on a chaise longue while sipping cocktails and taking leisurely dips in the pool.

Enjoy a delightful dinner on the terrace, enveloped by the gentle rustle of trees in the breeze, while a canopy of stars adorns the night sky. Subsequently, return to pristine white linens for a tranquil night’s sleep.

Days 6 to 8: Borana Conservancy (Laikipia)

In the morning, a light aircraft will transport you to Borana Conservancy, where you will enjoy a three-night stay in a charming thatched cottage at Borana Lodge, nestled among rugged hillsides and providing stunning views of Mount Kenya.

As a prominent safari destination, you will have the opportunity to engage in mountain biking and horseback riding, navigating the rolling hills and designated trails while enjoying a refreshing breeze on your cheeks. These comprehensive activities provide an opportunity for exploration and adventure, presenting distinctive perspectives to appreciate the beauty of nature. Consider engaging in a bush walk to uncover the intricate details of the reserve—observe fresh footprints in the soil and the industrious termites constructing their habitat from a tree stump.

Experience the thrill of day and night game drives, where you can relax while traversing extensive landscapes in pursuit of wildlife. Delight in the sight of elephants gathering at a watering hole, or witness the rare spectacle of cheetahs moving gracefully across the grasslands in search of prey.

A trip is not truly fulfilled without savoring lunch in serene privacy beneath the shade of a fever tree, complemented by refreshing cocktails at sunset, all while taking in the vast beauty of the rolling hills and expansive grasslands.

Day 9 – 11: Masai Mara National Reserve

The next day, you will embark on a light aircraft from Lewa Downs Airstrip to Mara North Airstrip, completing the final section of your journey.
