Detailed Itinerary for 3 Days Uganda Gorilla trekking Safaris 

Day 1:Entebbe/Kampala To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Eat an early breakfast before embarking on your three-day Uganda gorilla trekking safari from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will be met by a qualified Uganda Safari guide from Guided Aloyo Excursions and transported to the park. You will be transported in a 4×4 safari vehicle on a fairly tarmacked route via the Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale highway for  over 550km drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

On the road from Kampala to Masaka, you’ll pass through Kayabwe, where you may have a photographic session and do some geological experiments to see how the water flows in the different ways near the Equator.

Proceeding to the southern hemisphere for your 3 days Uganda gorilla safari expedition, you will have lunch during your emnroute journey in Mbarara town. On your way to western Uganda, you’ll pass picturesque landscapes like the kigezi highlands’ terraced slopes and see long-horned Ankole cattle. When you get to your hotel or lodge of choice, your driver-guide will see to it that you’re checked in for dinner and a good night’s sleep. This concludes your day 1 of the 3 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari.

Day 2:Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your much anticipated Uganda Mountain Gorilla trekking expedition in the Bwindi Forest is finally here.

You will be picked up from your accommodation by your Uganda safari driver guide after an early morning breakfast and driven to the headquarters of the gorilla trekking sector. Prior to 8:00 am local time, there is a briefing at headquarters regarding proper tracking procedures. During the briefing, eight tourists are assigned to a single gorilla family for trekking based on their fitness levels.

Every gorilla safari trekker is provided with a trekking pole and proceeds into the bush accompanied by park rangers and guides. Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi is unpredictable due to the gorillas’ habits of movement, resulting in an activity duration of approximately 6 to 8 hours. Despite spending all that time looking,  only have 1 hour spent in the company of these majestic gorillas. After this unforgettable one-hour experience, you return to the park’s headquarters and are given a certificate for the Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Subsequently, you will convene with your safari driver-guide for transit to your accommodation.

In addition to gorillas, Bwindi Forest  is abundant in various species, including African civets, African golden cats, butterflies, endemic birds, and monkeys such as red-tailed, L’Hoest’s, blue, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. It also hosts forest hogs, duikers, and flowering plants like the threatened brown mahogany. These diverse species can be observed during nature walks along the breathtaking trails of the majestic jungle while on your 3-day gorilla trekking safari in Uganda.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park To Kampala/Entebbe

On the third day, after a romantic evening beneath the gorillas’ shadows, you’ll head back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport to catch a flight home. Along the trip, you will have lunch and have the opportunity to buy craft supplies from various souvenir shops to have a constant reminder of your Bwindi gorilla trekking safari. After three days of gorilla trekking safari, our safari guide makes sure you reach your desired location securely.
