A Detailed 9 Days Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Kibale, & Bwindi Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda via Entebbe International Airport.

Today, our safari driver guide will meet & greet you at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. He will subsequently transport you to the hotel for repose. Based on your arrival time, you may select from the following options: a visit to a fishing town, a chimpanzee sanctuary, a botanical garden, or a wildlife reserve.

Day 2: Transit to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Following breakfast at your lodge, You will be transferred to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you commence a walking safari to observe white rhinos accompanied by an armed ranger guide. Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is the sole sanctuary for wild rhinos in Uganda after their extinction, providing an unparalleled rhino tracking experience. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the sole location where one can observe rhinos in their natural habitat. The sanctuary currently houses more than thirty-five southern white rhinos. The refuge has gained popularity among travelers for rhino trekking, bird watching, natural hikes, and relaxing. Following a walking safari, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and reach the top of the falls from which the park takes its name.

Day 3: Game drive and  Boat cruise at Murchison falls national park.

You will awaken before dawn to embark on a morning game drive, providing an opportunity to observe early risers and nocturnal species before they retreat to their shelters. This national park in Uganda is renowned for its beauty, as it harbors four out of five of the Big Five creatures and is also home to one of the most magnificent and powerful waterfalls globally.

Today, you will have the opportunity to observe several residents of the Park, including lions, giraffes, Jackson‘s hartebeests, antelopes, buffalo, and elephants.

Birdwatchers will appreciate a variety of species in these regions, including the secretary bird and the black-chested snake eagle, among others.

In the afternoon, go on a boat excursion to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile cascades down a narrow 7-meter gorge, descending 43 meters into the river en route to Lake Albert.

Following the cruise, you will return to the lodge for supper and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Journey to Kibale National Park

Following breakfast, commence the drive to Kibale National Park, renowned as the primate capital of the world, which entails a 5-7 hour drive through the rural landscapes and traditional homesteads of Kagadi District, with a potential stop to tea plantations if time permits, arriving at Fort Portal in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will tour the community to observe the daily lifestyle of the residents in this region, where you will engage in coffee production. Subsequent to this experience, proceed to your lodge, arriving in the afternoon.

Day 5: Chimpanzee hiking and transportation to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following an early breakfast, proceed to Kanyanchu headquarters in  Kibale Forest National Park Headquarters, by 8:00 AM for a chimpanzee pre-trekking briefing conducted by the park personnel. The chimpanzee trekking experience typically lasts 2 to 5 hours, including one hour of direct interaction with these remarkable animals.

Kibale Forest hosts several primates, including chimpanzees, red-tailed mangabeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, Phoestes, and blue and red colobus monkeys.

Numerous exquisite species of birds, butterflies, and even microscopic insects exist.

Following a successful trek, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Safari excursion and boat voyage along the renowned Kazinga Channel

Following breakfast, embark on a game drive in the Kasenyi plains of this park, where you will have the opportunity to observe elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, kobs, and hippos, among other wildlife.

Embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon boat tour along the 45-kilometer Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel, extending 45 km, historically harbored a significant concentration of hippopotamus populations until management implemented culling in 1960.

On a hot day, you may take in the expansive vistas of the Nile crocodiles and other wild game quench their thirst on the waters of the Kazinga Channel and swarming along its shores.

Conclude the two-hour activity and participate in an afternoon game drive along the channel track on route to the lodge for leisure.

Day 7: Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Following breakfast, prior to your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwestern region of Uganda. You embark on a game drive in this section of the park in pursuit of the tree-climbing lions.

The Ishasha sector is renowned for its climbing lions, along with various other wildlife inhabiting this wooded area of the park.

The preference of the tree-climbing lions is to wait for their prey while lying flat on the branches of fig trees in the mid-morning sun. Following this encounter, continue the drive to Bwindi, arriving in the evening for leisure.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following an early breakfast, you will receive a packed lunch, attend a briefing by the game guides at the park headquarters, and commence your gorilla trek. Traversing the dense, lush rain forest to encounter gorillas in their native habitat is an extraordinary and indelible experience. This experience lasts from 2 to 9 hours and represents the ultimate goal of an African exploration adventure.

You will have only one hour of intimate interaction with these serene, gentle apes(mountain gorillas), during which you may take photographs and familiarize yourself with them.

Day 9: Airport Transportation

Before retreating from the action to return to the starting area, you are allowed to take as many pictures as you like.

Today, you commence a journey to Kampala, where you will reside for two nights until your connecting flight home.

A stop will be made at the Uganda Equator crossing in Kayabwe for a memorable photo session and lunch.

Note: With this route, you may book flights arriving from Entebbe Airport in Uganda and departing from Kigali, as it is more proximate.
