A Detailed 12-Day Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari  Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by your safari guide and transported to your hotel for the night in Kampala.

Day 2:Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

Your safari in Uganda will commence with a drive northward to Murchison Falls National Park. Prepare yourself for the amazing views, a quick nature walk, and rhino tracking to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Masindi with a nice lunch on the way.

The sanctuary’s guided nature walk allows you to get up close and personal with the endangered rhinos—the only ones in Uganda. Arrive at Murchison Falls National park in the evening and proceed directly to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your chosen accommodation.

Day 3:Game Drive & Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Following an early breakfast, partake in a morning game drive to observe the diverse array of wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, and buffalo, that inhabit the park. Return to the Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, go on a boat ride upstream to the base of the thunderous Murchison Falls, which provides excellent photographic chances of this natural wonder.

Additionally, along the riverbanks, one can observe animals such as hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and distinctive avian species for enthusiastic birdwatchers. A brief climb from the base of the falls leads to the top of the powerful Murchison Falls, offering breathtaking vistas and excellent photographic prospects.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest national Park

Following breakfast, travel southwest to the town of Fort Portal, then continue to Kibale Forest National Park. Lunch while transit. Arrive at Kibale Forest in the evening and enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure.

Day 5:  Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

Following an early breakfast, a briefing session will be conducted by the park officials, after which you will embark on a chimpanzee tracking expedition in the jungle. Return to the resort for lunch and, in the evening, embark on the Bigodi swamp tour.

Bigodi Swamp is renowned for its diverse population of indigenous species of birds. The wetland serves as a significant source of wealth for the local community through tourism and artisanal products. Proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 6:Drive To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the biggest parks with a variety of mammal species. Dining at a lodge within the park. Later, take an evening game drive over the savannah plains to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, stripped jackals, hippopotamuses, kobs, warthogs, and a variety of primates in the trees, including chimpanzees, olive baboons, red-tailed, and vervet monkeys. Have supper and spend the night at the hotel of your choice.

Day 7: Morning game drive and Evening boat cruise at Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following breakfast, proceed to Kasenyi to explore the crater lakes, Edwards and George, renowned as a breeding site for several antelopes, especially the Uganda kob. You may be fortunate to spot further wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other species. Return to your resort for lunch and subsequently embark on an afternoon launch cruise around the Kazinga Channel. Relish the beams of the setting sun during the launch cruise. Go back to your lodge for dinner and spend the night there.

Day 8: Game drive in the Ishasha Sector and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The location is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, and the opportunity to observe them is largely a matter of chance. Make your way to the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after your game drive. After checking into your reserved accommodation, unwind for the remainder of the evening.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast on day 9, you will be briefed at the ranger station. By mid-morning, you will be ready to begin your gorilla trekking trip in the verdant forests of Bwindi National Park. Going gorilla tracking may be a real challenge, requiring a high level of physical condition to endure the lengthy days of walking (anything from two to seven hours).

Additional sightseeing is arranged on the journey to Entebbe Airport, with lunch provided along the way. We arrange the final transfer to Entebbe. You arrive in the evening at Entebbe International Airport for your final transfer to the departure flight.
